May 2010:
Dear Community Partners & Friends,
Please join the Joseph W. Nunn Scholarship Foundation board, families and friends in recognizing high school students and adult and community leaders as they receive much deserved awards for 2010: Martha Masiarz (WHS), Gabrille Abouzeide (AITE), Daniel White (SHS Scholar Athlete) and Wanda Dunmore (adult learner).
The Joseph W. Nunn Scholarship Foundation was created to honor the memory of the eldest son of then PLTI Alumni Association President, Myrtle Nunn and her husband, Joseph, after they lost Joseph W. Nunn in a car accident.  The Foundation is a legacy to his memory and makes it possible for students and adults to continue their education and community service.
This year, parent advocate and PLTI alumna, Regan Allen, will receive a grant award to be used to continue work on the Community Conversation About Parental Involvement now in its fourth year in Stamford.  Regan has been a moderator, recorder, committee chair of the Parent Support Passion Committee and has demonstrated leadership for four years.  This year she is also an "executive chef" on Stone Soup for the 21st Century 2010 scheduled for October 2.
I hope our community partners and friends will join us to celebrate with these award winners on Sunday, June 27. Cocktail hour 4-5pm; awards presentation, dinner & dancing 5-8pm.  Please see the attached invitation for all the details.
As always, please let me know if you have any questions,
Eva Weller,  Co-Chair
